Frozen Tissue Collections
Frozen tissue collections have become central to modern biodiversity collections because of their tremendous value for molecular systematics and genome sequencing. NCBS Research Collections hold a substantial tissue collection frozen in -80°C freezers. These are usually preserved in 100% ethanol. This tissue collection is being used in molecular systematic, evolutionary, ecological and conservation genetic studies at NCBS. It forms a core part of the research programme in several NCBS labs.
